so im having a bash at building my own squat/ power rack.
the idea is i will use thicker material and fully welded sides compared to what you buy from fitness stores. they tend to be thin steel and all bolted.
here is sorta what i will be building, just for example. this is a pro home / commercial grade rack and kinda what i am aiming for.

the spotter arms will be like this, instead of a solid bar inside a tube.

Material being used is 50x50x3mm mild box for the framing. i have 12 mm solid bar for the pins and 25mm solid bar for a pullup bar and band pegs etc. i also got me a length of 60x60x3mm @ 7.5M incase i needed it. i am trying to avoid having large holes because if i have smaller holes i can have them closer together like competition racks. a better level of adjustment.
Hole spacing i think will be 1 inch at mid section up to 1.5 inch or 2 inch higher up the frame for squats. not quite sure what the rack should hold in theory, but it should be a fair bit.
i bought myself a pillar drill to help with the holes, i will make them 14mm i think or 13 as i will need some tolerance for my lack of precision
Progress will be a little slow guys as i am going away in a few weeks on hols. so money a bit tight at the mo but i am doing what i can do.
So anyway, onto the build..
