I actually bought the cases off a mate who knows darrell. Darrell taylor did the flowing and matching ,he also raised the ports to 193/128* .

I am guessing your bedroom is on ground floor building the scooter in there, and your Mom & Dad let you. Fair play when your older you will need an understanding wife

Blah blah blah real scooters my **** haha in all seriousness though i have alot of love for lammys and vespas would love a nice li150 with t1 topend some day but thats for the future haha. My bedroom isnt ground floor haha its first floor so i had to carry it downtairs ,my mum and dad wernt too happy but o well certainly will need an understanding wife! the cars and bikes come first haha

Also for an idea of power ,a standard piaggio 50cc engine de restricted would make anywhere from 3 to 5bhp. My nrg should be making 16+bhp at the rear wheel.

Very knowledgeable and well into his scooters if its the same person I'm thinking of. Was a long time since i had a 2 stroke.

Course he will, I am sure he is waiting till he is 17 for this one apart from on the track, BUT I guess he has exactly the same one with a stock motor

Darrel taylor own a tuning company and sells scooter tuning parts through a site called scootermatix if i remember correctly. He does alot of port work and dyno runs for people ,hes also well known in the fizzy community!

I sold a standard Speedfight 2 last week and that did 45mph, what will a tuned moped manage apart from getting there quicker?. Can you change the gearing to increase top end as all I saw was kits to change roller weights etc which only affect acceleration and biting point. I bought that as a £50 box of grotty bits and liked putting it back together as a project.

HI mate , a bit of info- speedfights arent the best start for tuning ,the pug engine isnt the best and the tuning parts compared to their minarelli and piaggio counterparts are scarce! You say the speedfight was pulling 45mph this is clock speed and clocks over read by roughly 10mph this can obviously vary! so in reality you were doing about 35mph give or take. My NRG has a lc piaggio engine so was a brilliant base to start tuning , gear up kits as they are known are available and i have a primary and secondary fitted! i wont bore you with the % etc. but i should be able to pull a gps real speed of around 75mph more like 80mph on a downhill haha ,acceleration wise im expecting around 7-8 seconds to 60mph as a rough estimate but 0 to 40 should be rapid! for an idea of my engine spec heres a rough list
Stage 6 racing lc topend with raised port timings 193/128* this is pretty much max ported ,you wouldnt want to raise them any more specially the transfer timings ,also if you raised for example the transfer timings without raising the exhaust timings you would f*** up the blowdown and it would not run correctly!

my engine cases have also been matched to the transfer ports and flowed.
i also have stage 6 clutch ,clutch bell, belt, malossi variator ,motoforce crank, srt lightened flywheel ,stage 6 lightened drive face 24mm flatslide carb,the list goes on

There's a NRG round at my friend's shop which was attacked by some scrotes and the panels and ignition barrel are broke so I might try that as a project if I can get him to part with it. I repaired a Benelli moped a couple of months ago and that was pretty nippy little thing. Trouble is you have to wring their neck all the time to make progress. P.S. it's 40 years since I was a teenager so these things are only for amusement and sometimes profit

As i said ,give or take but a standard pug wouldnt pull more than 40mph real speed. The current cost is just over £2k bearing in mind ive made huge savings ,i bought nearly everything apart from gaskets and bearings all brand new but second hand from people who built there bikes but never quite finshed them! if i had bought everything brand new then i would have been looking at £3.5k plus! ,if you are interested in starting a project, join the site my project is on, scooternations .com great site,ive been there since day 1 and there some great info!

Haha believe me now ,no scrotes will be getting their hands on my pride and joy! thanks, the speedys are worth a couple of bob depening on the year model and condition! have a look on ebay for the same year etc. and you will have an idea

Problem being i cant get away with riding a busa at 16,not that anyone would catch me
