Worst tool you ever bought

Just bought a set of wood use drill bits from screwfix.

Slightest bit of pressure and the just fold and bend.!!

I've never seen a drill bit bend until now.

Gonna take em back?
We've a screwfix outlet down the road, and i'm gagging on a chance to screwfix them!

(do it to machine mart all the time, the chancers, although interestingly, the bloke in the shop rates the quality of the gear by "no one's brought one of those back, so they must be ok" - Ridiculous.)

Like trying to smooth steel with tracing paper.

and cheap squares - never accurate and move with the slightest knock. Got some great Moore and Wright ones (dogs danglerz) even bigguns cheapy cheap cheap

The flip up gas welding goggles from fleabay (not strictly a tool I know) they only fitted where they touched (bridge of nose and errr...that was it!) and the first time I tried to use them the RH lenses all fell out . Did get a refund tho' and "don't bother to return" so I used them once more (when all my other goggles were hiding) and this time all the LH lenses fell out. Still haven't thrown them out...even a bad fit is better then none at all..and anyway maybe one day.....a sculpture

Broken tools anyone? send them to me and I'll give them a new life

I had a welding mask like that, welding away, as you do, then both lenses just dropped out! Great bit of kit. Straight in the bin.

They fall apart when you use them. I then spent about £80 on a proper set of different circlip pliers and have not looked back since!

I have a set of those circlip pliers, cost about £1.50

I like that they come with four heads, look carefully, there's two of each. I suppose it's because you can only use them once so need spares

I think the heads are 1 each of

Internal straight
Internal offset
External straight
External offset.

The difference between internal and external is in the pivot.

You'd think so, however you use the upper or lower holes on the jaws to change between internal / external. Clever design really, but they are made of the thinnest metal ever and twist when used. It's actually easier to use a couple of screwdrivers.

Worst Tool

Clarke nut splitter stripped the thread the first time i used it followed by power devil angle grinder burnet the arature out in 5 mins.

Attachment for the drill to put in wood screws it could put them in in any position without letting them fallout and could put them in flush proud or countersink them BUT it didn't work

A 17mm spanner with heavy duty stamped on it, that I bent into a u shape with my bare hands, also a Black Spur automatic wire stripper that snapped 1st time i used it on very light household cable, must have seen me comming, should have been top quality for 79p

Worst tool I ever bought was a pressure washer... cause I lent it to a mate & it never came back! Don't lend your tools out to anybody (I now even physically stand over the girlfriend whilst she changes the spare tyre on the car... wouldn't want that jack to go missing!).

Any cheap torx male sockets, been thru loads of sets of Lazer, Draper, Sealey & Sykes. Also destroyed Mac and Snap on sets. Now using a Urwin set (Record). They have lasted two years. Would not dream of using a impact tool on them, due to the previous broken ones I've had...

a chicago eletric portable band saw. bought it for a job, and decided to get a cheap 1 since i needed it for 6 cuts(and have never needed 1 since) got halfway through the first cut and it caught on fire. so i just unplugged it, sat it out in the parking lot and let it burn. took what was left back, exchanged it for a hammer drill of the same cost(no cash refunds) but that hammer drill has served me well for 2 yrs now.

I'm sorry but I find this very funny...

so much so that I've got tears running down my face.

It'd have been even funnier if you'd walked into the shop and it was still smoking!
