Magnifying lens in Speedglas 9002?

Wonder if anyone has fitted a magnifying lens to Speedglas helmet? It fits over the top of the clear inner lens cover, but seems as though it needs to be glued or taped into place, which doesnt seem ideal.

Is it a speedglas magnifier? Should fit in a speedglas shield in place of the inner cover?

I've used the speedglas ones in a jackson shield before (well, a guy who worked for me did) and we just put it between the lens and spatter lens.

Make sure you get it round the right way too

It fits perfectly between the outer cover lens, and the filter itself............dont think its a Speedglas part, but being behind the outer cover lens might mean less likely to get scratched? Makes a big difference being able to see better though, and seems a good idea for anyone with poor eyesight.

I have one fitted to my Speedglas and the fit was useless
I used a couple of spots of glue from a Hot Glue gun to hold it in place.
Been there for the last two years
Very easy to remove if I ever need to

I have a 2.5 and it came from Rapid Welding, who have pretty much the best online welding equipment shop, I have seen up to now! I am not far from them, and things ordered from web shop turns up on their van the next day in most cases.

Fit of the lens is perfect on my Speedglas, but I get the impression that some people fit the mag lens on the rear of the filter, rather than in front, which means greater chances of it getting scratched and not as good optically as fitted in front.

Just bought a 2.5 cheater lens for my speedglas 9002X, Much better than wearing my glasses, but now the problem is replacing my specs to see what I'm doing every time I raise the hood, But overall I'm impressed,

I had exactly the same problem gordon...so I went and bought a pair of 2.5 readers and they work perfectly, and you can just get away without removing them to see what your doing....
