Hi just lost my three phase as have moved workshops, so my Kemmpi mastertig ac dc won`t work now. I just missed a secondhand Thermal Arc 200 ac dc single phase on ebay but was told that new sets can be had with generic pedal for £1625+vat. Anybody any idea were that may be or were the cheapest set is available. thanks

That seems very cheap. They wanted £3000 here and the 11kv to 415v transformer is on my land. In the end I said if they wanted a wayleave to access their poles they would have to give me three phase foc! Net result is I've got a three phase 160 amp per phase supply right into my barn/workshop.
That reminds me I've now got a Transwave 15kva rotary single to three phase converter to put on eBay - only used it for a few hours - open to offers arround £850
Thats a result!, they ran the cable along about 20yards of pavement, I believe a very high quality (expensive) convertor is required for electronics. If fact is anyone here using a convertor to run a TIG ac inverter machine?
Mine was entirely an overhead run from the pole that the transformer is on to the back of my barn - perhaps 35 yards. The joke was that when they came to re-cable the overhead lines from individual to bunched conductors, they also wanted to replace the end of the underground 11kv feed (they degrade in the atmosphere apparently) and they couldn't get their digger under the bracing wires, so I had to lend them my microdigger for the day! While this was happening we were off power so I ran my 100kva generator. Two weeks later EDF rang me up and asked to borrow the generator to keep the next village alive while they recabled there!
