Been looking at this mig for a couple o weeks on ebay now n just can't decide whether its a good buy or cheap rubbish. Anyboby got 1 or ever used 1? how long do they weld for before they over heat? Any advise would be helpful. cheers

what are you planing to weld? one pint to note there i no warranty and there has been a few issues with people getting duff ones and finding it very hard to get money back. not sure if t was that seller mind

Search forums on Giant welders. They have been sold by box movers without much after sales support. Just another rebadged Chinese welder.

With a 50A minimum, it won't be very good for thin metal like bodywork.

for that kind of money you can get a better set but with a lower top end but also a more usable min. does it have to be mig or would stick do what you want?

I found that when I was looking at buying a MIG in the 250 amp region there is no such thing as a bargain with new machines, you get what you pay for.

I settled for a Portamig 235 at twice the price of that one..and still glad I did, reliable, strong, British made and works a treat.

Don't he's saying that. I think he's trying to say they won't warrant that it's fit for a particular purpose. Looks like a case of someone attempting to be clever by trying to use "legalese".

He does say "If an item is faulty within the warranty period offered then please return it to us with your invoice. If found to be a manufacturers fault we will repair, replace or refund"

There are statuatory rights too,

i didn't read all the small print i remember though a while back a couple of members complaining that they had a real hard job getting money back for duff welders. perhaps it wasn't that seller

£800 isnt that cheap but it does look suspiciously like rubbish though!

Bigbert, if you're looking to weld a fair bit of 12mm then you'll need a much bigger machine than that and the duty cycle that goes with it.

er mig is £325 on fleybay but as you say no such thing as a free lunch
welding 3mm to 12mm at max duty cycle is 50% thats sounds a lot to me of am i reading it wrong??????????????

and by the look of the rest of the stuff on there i would say left over junk or returns or just a cheap container load like mig alloy spool gun at £69
warranty well you might get your money back but with welding you need a local place that will look after you for repairs consumables etc not that you might get a refund then you have no welder and have to go buy another too many if's and but.s for my likeing

this is a copy of negitive feedbackfrom fleybay looks like he has being sent 2 items both broken and complained i bet this went on for longer than the feedback and the comments from the seller make your own mind up
