WOT Regulator?.

I am now the proud owner of a brand new Clarke MIG135TE unit.What I really need to know now is,will the gas regulator that came with the unit fit onto a standard type Co2 bottle,or will I have to buy a new one.I don't want to have to use a great big cylinder,so could anyone suggest a cylinder and regulator type that will do the job?.Thanks in advance. Errrmmmm....might help if we knew what reg came with it.
But....assuming it's the little one for disposables then it'll only fit disposables, if you want to use 'pub type' co2 cylinders then you need a full size reg kit like this.

I think you're right about the reg,it's the one that comes with the machine,so that one seems to be the type I need,and,I might add,at a very reasonable cost.Also,whilst reading the info on it,some of it deals with shielding gasses and states that whilst Co2 may not get the best from the machine......,which gas IS the best?????,as I understand a little bit about the reason for shielding gasses,I might as well start off as I mean to go on,in the right way,and save myself some money,not to add tears!!,if you know what I mean.FELIXX.

The 'best' gas is a blend of mostly argon and carbon dioxide (Ar/CO2) with some brands (maybe all?) also containing a small percentage of oxygen. It gives a nice weld profile and (if your machine and technique is good) can be pretty much spatter-free.
For the sort of light stuff your machine is capable of, a light mix (5% co2) is best.
The downside is the cost compared to plain CO2.
If you intend to use a mix rather than plain CO2 you'll need this kit instead as the fitting is different.
