some hardware stores sell it in gallon cans or a fuel merchant the only other stuffis jiser or gunk but both expensiveok this next question is really going to expose my stupidity:
where do you buy parafin? and/or any other cheap to buy fluid that will work magic on dirty engine parts?
parafin cant it will be ok through the pump thoughbrightspark, can parafin be diluted? as im not sure how many litres my parts washer will require.
the other thing im worried about is will anything except the proper fluid nacker the electric pump up? i dont know, perhaps the proper stuff is also a lubricating agent?
rtb ill check out wickes and b and q as i have them quite local to me. it will be used on car parts mainly. im a mechanic.
u have omitted to say how much and where u can buy it fromParaffin will stink the house out. I use Delimanine, it needs diluting but I've yet to find anything it wont shift.
And it smells of Oranges![]()

8 quidI've used the machine mart parts washer fluid diluted to 3:1 in the past and its been ok in the little clarke parts washer. Obviously it would have been more affective it I wasn't such a tight git and used the fluid neat.
As for paraffin I didn't realise that B & Q and Wickes sold it, I was rather foolishly going to the only local petrol station that sells it and paying nearly £8 for 5 litres so that I wouldn't freeze in the garage over the winter.
