log splitter on a 90??

have been thinking of building a log splitter for a while.

then i had a thought, ive got a LR 90, so if i get a hydraulic pump that fits on to the back of my transfer box, would this run a ram on a log splitter???

theres a few landy peeps on here, anyone got a pump kicking about that will fit a 90?? or any other landy associated parts lying about??

can't see why not. but running the 90 will use plenty of fuel. i had a simulator thought for my lightweight that i'm about to put a 200ti in using the searing pump for the hydrolysis but gave it up as a bad idea

A PTO adapter to take a standard hydraulic pump is quite a common add-on.

Running the engine at tick-over is hardly going to chew through diesel at a rate of knots, and will provide plenty ofpower for log splitting.

i took the 19j out of me 90 when i first got it, im on me second 200tdi now, and have a spare in me workshop.

im running it on a 60/40 diesel and veg oil mix at the min, will be less diesel in the mix when the warmer weather gets here.
so me pockets a tad healthier at the min
