Degreasers

Wanted some brushable and water rinseable degreaser yesterday, so bought some Gunk (6868) It is absolutely worse than useless Might as well just use water.

I used to use Jizer back in the day, preferable to the old Gunk (brown) stuff, as it seemed to work better. Local place doesn't stock it but I can buy online, but it is expensive now, and I don't want to buy another dumbed down product. Is it still as good as it was, does anyone know, or are there alternatives that actually work ?

Any recommendations ? Seems to be many different concoctions available, but do they work ?

I like the screwfix degreaser in 5L jars. I use it neat in a spray bottle. And also about 1 / 5 ratio in my parts washer works well.

Elbow grease is surprisingly effective.
That's not sarcasm by the way - you can buy it from B&Ms, ASDA, Wilco etc.

Bilt Hamber Surfex is good and can be diluted. It's expensive though especially with p and p on top. I find it lasts ages though.

No nonsense from Screwfix, cheap, cheerful and works. I keep a spray bottle in the crane and a can of brake cleaner...degreaser for cleaning up pins before re-greasing, brake cleaner for cleaning off the grease nipples and end of the grease gun after greasing

Also fantastic on grease stained clothes, my orange work wear gets greasy, spray the effected areas before going in a normal wash with whatever detergent you use and the grease stains are usually removed unless they are quite easy and worked in, might need a second go then
