I've slowed down a bit. I brought virtually all the magazines downstairs and stuck them in the front room on the basis that being in the way, I'd get through them quickly. I did a decent job on 400+ model railway magazines, 1.5m of old computer magazines and about 70 copies of Practical Classics, but have hardly done anything since. Having chatted to a mate a week or two back I thought I'd have a go at listing some on eBay, but no interest so far. I guess I can't expect much when I've only listed three, and I expect the hassle of sending them will be too much to be worth bothering with.

It really isn't. You only have to look at the number of people trying to sell the same thing.

A quick flick through them, put the odd one to one side if it appeals or relates to something you own - the rest, in the recycling bin. Room created - both in the front room and in your head

I think I mentioned this on here before - I put a decade of Classic and Sportscar through a local auction - a 4 ft tall stack. Made two quid - covered the cost of fuel to start my V8 in the car park after dropping them off

I recycled 100's of magazines recently and I'd had some for decades.
Now they are gone and I'm not tripping over them I don't have to think about them anymore; in fact I did have to pause and consider what had gone so it shows that I don't miss them.

C&SC and the other glossy ones are the ones I'll have the most trouble with, I think. I'm not even looking at getting rid of my Octane collection, they're just too nice. Old copies of Practical Classics aren't so bad because the print and photo quality from back then means that even very interesting technical articles aren't worth keeping.

Octane went too, as did Evo. I found Octane and Classic and Sportscar seemed to cover the same cars, same things, just a month or two apart.

As for my mum's copies of Peoples Friend...they worked surprisingly well as fire lighters.
