Stray bull terrier type dog in the yard - paintsprayer get mobile number off collar - dog gets reunited with owners (they driving about in car looking for him).
YardCat takes to a defensive position at height behind vice - while the above events unfold.

The missus got a call from the neighbors over the road when we were coming back from a long weekend, saying they had found a kitten and was it ours? It wasn't and thei cat wasn't impressed with sharing. Having just got back from a long trip, she got the cat cage and brought back the little feral... 6 months old, no microchip, very friendly and cuddly and purrs well. Settled straight down on the lap. No replies yet on Facebook missing pets or the local pages.

We caught a few ferals (to get them sorted and spayed) with a cartoonish trick, that surprisingly worked on several occasions..
A mesh cage of suitable size and bit of weight on top, propped up one end with a stick, piece of string tied to stick, hide round corner holding string keeping whole set up in view peeping round corner. receptacle of food placed under the cage sufficient to get cat fully under it. Wait til cat is fully under cage, pull string..Bosh.. cat caught.
Sounds bonkers, even I didn't think it'd work when I set it up, but caught them at least four times like this
