I've got the similar b+b drill but without the 'space invaders' panel thing , still works fine, used it a couple of days ago
got one of the older full metal ones too that's still usable ( I put a new flex on it though)
tbh the old BD stuff is perfectly good for drillin' oles in things

Right next to the Growling Budgie Night Club, opposite the old Ilford nick.... for us old timers that had a misspent youth in that area..... ....

I bought loads of stuff from Southern Discount Stores, a lot of which I still have. I bought a B&D v840 four speed drill which lasted about for about 30 years before it got so hot I had to drop it and it melted itself, but I kept the trigger mechanism and converted a two speed to a four speed so bits of it are still going.
I used to go over on my Fizzy with a nice big rucksack and buy everything I could.
I was there during 1975.
Great place.
