Toilets and drains

To cut a long and expensive story short
We moved in to the new house then had some drain issues requiring some digging and two liners done 8 weeks ago!
The Upstairs toilet is a bit slow to flush and has blocked recently, had the camera up and alls fine just blocked with paper, now Winchboy and I have an gentlemen's agreement we only No2 downstairs and double flush!
So we are wondering could it be the syphon thingy not dumping a full flush or water?
Could it be the air admittance valve at the top of the stack? Only this one on its own drain and stack
Could I change the 6l cistern for a bigger one to give it more oomph?

To alter that I would have to resite the bog in the nbathroom or dig the utility room floor up!
I think I will be doing a routine maintenance jetting with the power washer if I cant solve it, last survey didnt see any issues or concerns though thats why I wondered about the other bits Air valve or flush valve?

We had an issue recently, our septic tank had filled with water, causing the downstairs toilet to flush slowly.
I initially suspected a blockage but found nothing with the rods
Lifted the tank lid and all was revealed

If it's problem with the valve not letting enough air in get some one to flush the loo and look at the other toilet or traps on the sinks, should be very little movement if any of the water in the pan and traps

i assume you hace cheaked the basics removed the fitting from the back of the toilet cheaked theres nothing there to stop or slow the flow

could you lift the toilet an inch removing putting wood under neath refit to get extra slope

first off fill bowl with solids

use a full black bucket of water straight in the bowl that tests the bowl flush point

upstairs what size is the tank measure it

downstairs toilet take the top off and look at the insides if old type it will have a lump in there then its a diaphram fit double flush is a cause of issues but depends on the inside of the tank

old toilets are fun if they use a bomb in them as they dual flush with plenty of water smaller tanks fail with them

Jetting with a power washer with a normal spray nozzle ?

im guessing hes got a pressure washer with a drain snake

ive got one a bit weak but i dout it would clear a blockage but after you get it moving its good to clear every thing after you got the main part moved and when i had a problem at my new to me house we kept having blockages ever few weeks i cleaned all the drains with it and found where they had changed some pipe work at some point there was dust and grit down the pipe that was slowing the waste flow used it to clear out that problem as well

I did once make the mistake of asking if the lady of my house really needed to use such a lot of paper...

The answer was similar to the one I got when I asked if we needed the heating on full chat, and all the windows open...

When our toilet started to block it was caused by the sealing ring coming dislodged and buckling up into the waste pipe.

Would a macerator help "chop" the waste into smaller particles ?

Bucket of water, you don't necessarily need the solids (wasn't the old test said to be apples + axle grease)
If that goes properly it's the cistern.
Built in tanks can have issues with bowl to delivery pipe seal where the pipe is part blocked by the seal not fitted properly (mine.) Or the pipe is too long and chokes it's self against the inside of the bowl. Either way it takes the punch out of the flush.
Syphon flushes have problems with the piece of plastic tearing that lift up the water though that once flushing has no effect on flow

there is bad design toilet pans but most follow a simple trap and overflow

the issue is conserve water its in everything but you need enough water to flush solids, smaller water tanks dont give this flow

simple soloution fit a larger water tank on the toilet but best to test first with the builders bucket of water

ive seen lumps put in water tanks to conserve the water being flushed if so bad use water butts that collect rainwater to do the same thing with a bucket

sometimes the george the third gets stuck in the bend and no amount off flushing gets it away apart from a shove if your on tramadol or co codomol it splits your bum
