Good afternoon Gents, (and ladies if any present) Has anyone who owns a DPF fitted diesel vehicles noticed anything slightly off with their vehicles regeneration cycles like more frequent regeneration for example ever since this most recent 'fuel shortage'?
My car runs like clockwork as does the DPF cycles as it has done for the last 50,000 miles or thereabouts, it gets a daily 26 miles run all motorway morning and evening 6 days per week and usually likes to regen every other week or sometimes weekly, the only way you can tell on mine is when you stop and parked the car the exhaust system pings and clicks quite loudly for 4 hours after shutting the car down, or when you pull away from the lights i get a small puff of smoke which disperses quickly and does smell like partially burnt diesel, and the injectors make a 'double chatter' when i'm just floating over the accelerator as maintaining a steady speed. The last few weeks its been regenerating every couple of journeys and the smoke mentioned has pretty much tripled and getting onto the motorway after the cars warmed up is a spectacular sight leaving a big claggy cloud for the cars behind me to think my rings have gone, after this its clear then.
My cars a 2011 Verso D4D with 90,000 miles on it, well serviced and i bought it at 42,000 from an elderly gent who cherished the car and gave me all the paperwork, (Heck he even had it wax oiled underneath) and had new injectors done by Toyota 1000 miles prior to me purchasing it. Its been a great car except for most recently with a few random things gone wrong and a snapped driveshaft.
