Hada customer who was a farrier, his cats sat so close to the forge their fur went crisp he gave up trying to stop them

We had a cat like that when I was growing up, it used to stick its tail in the fire & then wander round with a smoking stinking black mess on it. Cat didn’t seem bothered, stunk the house out though.
