Need to prime tiger seal?

On my weld repairs to Merc battery tray area, I hae etch primed the bare metal. I will be using Tiger seal from tube brushed to the seams.

For aeresol base coat and laquer, do I need to prime the seam sealer or can the top coats go straight on top after the sealer has had a few days to fully cure?

That suggests its best to paint as soon as possible. Perhaps give it 2 or 3 hours before paint.

I think that is just stating how fast a busy body shop can paint over the top of their product.

Not any real concern for me as ill leave it for days to cure before overpainting.

My query is if metallic base coat will adhere to the seam sealer without the need for primer? Or do I use a non etch primer on it ahyway to be safe?

It does need priming, with non-etch as you suggested.
Will be fine to leave a while before painting over, its actually better to do that to reduce risk of adhesion or cracking issues.

Thanks for this - that confirms my thoughts too so ill go that route
