Pin Bushing Material

Im needing to make some bushes to adapt a new hydraulic ram with 30.5mm pin holes to fit on the muck grab that uses 1" pins,

I was thinking about using these bushes,

but thats going to end up bloody dear!!

Im possibly over thinking it though, as its usually always a steel pin in a steel bush anyway, so am i better just to find some mild steel and turn the bushes i need out of that?

Another option is that I use some old hydraulic ram rod I have lying around, but is that going to be too hard?

I assume the pin is held in the machine, the cylinder eyes free to rotate around it? So the steel would be better as a bush in the machine - extended keeper plates or suitable pins to keep the new pins from rotating.

yeah, thats a good point I hadnt thought about,
In the end I am going to get some steel bar from town and turn them on the lathe, postage for the Agri-Linc ones was going to be 50 quid and i would still have to machine them to the right size anyway!
