After watching the video below, I tried some E6013 3.2mm rods, vertical up. This was on an ancient piece of thick steel.
I couldn't really prepare the steel properly, as I think it had some old red lead paint on it!
I used the 'upside down Xmas tree' method, described in the video. I didn't think I did too bad, as compared to my previous attempts.
The current range was 100 Amps, 110 Amps and finally 120 Amps.
