Why the hell is it so difficult nowadays?!?
Mrs tbd has decided she would like a little jimny for taking the dogs out. Looked at one in Bolton last week with a fresh mot despite the fact one repair patch was quite literally hanging off as it had only been “welded” on 2 sides, a completely seized front caliper and a rotten body mount. This from a trader
This morning went to look at a “tidy” example. Headlight boxes were that rusty chunks fell off when I shut the bonnet, swivels were leaking like a sieve, gearbox was soaked in oil, kingpins had enough play to be able to wobble the wheels when it was sat on them.
Then this afternoon , another “tidy” one. Not a panel without a scratch or dent, clutch bit on the last inch of pedal travel, 4x4 and low box wouldn’t work.
Why can’t people just be honest? I don’t mind doing a bit of extra work for the right money, but they’re all approaching 4 grand for utter sheds, and travelling to look at an apparently decent motor to find they’re absolutely banjoed is a pain
