Post blasting temp protection

Shortly ill be having my mgb shell blasted. Its will then be coming back to me bare.

Is there anything that could be tipped/poured over the body that would keep flash rust away for a day or two? The I can put some epoxy down

nothing that wouldn't mess with the painting process unless you cleaned it off meticulously.

I don't really understand flash rust. Perhaps I have been lucky

I had some bodywork blasted about 5 or 6 years ago. I repaired and used an amount of it and stored the rest, without any protection, in an unheated barn. we then moved house and it went in to another unheated barn. It still doesn't have any rust on it, flash or otherwise

I fully expect it to be covered in rust next week now that I have said this

Why not have everything ready to put on the epoxy, and do it as soon as it arrives?

Phosphoric acid, or citric acid?
In my limited experience, it does add some rust protection and I have painted over it with minimal prep, still looks good years later. That was for a garden table.
My welding bench was descaled in citric before welding together and has sat outside since. It has light surface rust but a lot less than I'd have expected.

id be verry carefull getting it blasted the metal gets hot and it lets the stress out of the metal and creases it been there and done it got the teeshirt blasting stuff for people

when i used to blast stuff for people i made sure they picked the gear up the same day as some left them a day and had slight surface rust on them .then they whinged just told them not my fault you were told end off

You can get shop primers that are very thin, easy to apply and will keep steel rust free for a few weeks.
However the good ones are expensive and difficult to get in small quantities. (1/2 litre would probably do the whole shell)

I'd try and get the epoxy straight onto the blasted steel. A slight gingering won't bother most epoxies but the better the surface prep the better the prefomance of the paint system.

My blaster will apply epoxy primer after blasting. Wouldn't be blasting panels you don't want to warp. I did some outer panels to clean them up and a lot of filler was needed to get them straight.

It would depend on the level of finish your blaster gives you.
If there are dark pits or patches you will get flash rust out of them. If the finish is universally sliver it should stay away for several days unless it gets wet.
Some blasters treat everything like 6mm plate, time is money. If your blaster does a fair number of car bodies wing doors and quarters should be OK unless someone rushes.

take it from me doors and wings can be ruined. i used to do them with kiln dried sand at reduced pressure and were wrecked even if you just blasted round the outer edges
