Brake hose worn!

Using pages of an old phone book or catalogue between the door and the wing it’s possible to “adjust” the clearance quickly and easily, just put enough pages in the gap and gently open and close the door

Ever been in a car factory and seen how panels are "carefully" aligned on cars failing quality at the end of the line and sent back for adjustment?

"Gentle" isn't a word they use

How does the sil trim come off? I removed the first clip, cant see how the rest work.

If not, I might use holesaw to get access to that bolt!

I have seen damaged hoses "taped" up .
Rubber hose split and cable tied around the pipe .
We are not allowed to remove it . (IN THEORY ANY WAY)

Used to see that on the Metro bodyshell build tracks, if the tailgate didn't close square to the aperture they had a big hinged bar that hooked into it diagonally and swung on it until it twisted the aperture to the right shape, I thought it might be a Rover thing, but later went into Ford and Vauxhall body plants and they all used similar violence.

I cant find any details or examples on YT of how to remove the trim panel along the underneath of the sil. Any ideas?

Hose ordered, £38 from GSF, should be available this afternoon, looks like I'll be doing it myself.

With MOT on Wednesday... I dont know if this hose part is even available!? Not currently leaking

Scary stuff! I dont believe this is a result of recent accident and driving home. It is worn on both sides which looks to me that it has happened over many thousands of miles, caused by incorrect assembly
Any ideas?

No I said both sides of the left hose are worn, as in it has been rubbing on both sides in the same location.

The other side, while I have not seen it, I couldnt feel any defects and there shouldnt be any as it is fitted correctly, unlike this one which appears twisted

Any ideas before I drill an 8mm hole in the plastic to get a 1/4" extension through?
Not wanting to use a bent spanner as sods law, it will round off.
I did try with a swivel head ratchet spanner, no luck, its a bit tight.
