It's the same with tyres - don't confuse 'OE' (original equipment) with 'OEM' - they're not the same specification. Even if the replacement is bought from a franchised dealer.
Personally, I don't worry once the design life (up to 5 years for a starter battery) is exceeded - just get a replacement of the correct specification.
I reckon most batteries - last just over the ten year mark now on cars.
BMS systems have improved allot. It helps if the car is used on regular basis..
Only early fails I remember is Ford smartcharge and EFB batteries - they were lucky to get out of warranty.
