Inverter Woes

Help! I bought a lathe a few months ago, only getting around to setting it up now. Has a 3ph motor with an inverter. Worked fine on collection, now doesn’t. Plugged it in, sounds like it wants to go, but no movement. Took the belts off, set inverter to run, and spun motor by hand. Runs for maybe five seconds, then inverter comes up with (I think) error code. Have checked parameters, and they’re correct as far as I can see. Has an external controller that all worked fine when I picked it up. Inverter is Mitsubishi, so decent make. I’m stumped

The manual for the device would eliminate the need to think and would allow you to know.

Thank you, would you start by looking for bad connections, and if not that, suspect the motor?

I'd maybe disconnect the motor, check for error messages, and get my voltmeter out and test the output.

Got another motor you can try ?

At the bottom of the photo I'd guess, after the brown and blue, not in the middle.

I'm guessing we're looking at the inverter, top two being 240v input ?

Yes, it’s the inverter, 240v input. Apologies for the lack of info. So the black goes below the blue/brown (to the connector closest to it), not beside them?

Is the 240v input at the top of your photo ?

Nothing exotic, I’m afraid. As far as I know, it’s a Smart & Brown SABEL, and I think it’s from 1948. Never owned one before, and only used lathes the odd time in garages I’ve worked in (long ago!) But hey, I’m looking forward to learning stuff with it!
