I am looking.Are you ordering 2 Fred?![]()
I found the haldex service difficult and didn't do it in the end...I just couldn't work out what went where! It was fine on the diagram but I really struggled to identify things under the car.Haldex Generation 4 service kit arrived today too.
Mine has the later Aisin TF-80SC 6 speed which I believe is less problematicI think I had the aw55 box (yours might be different)...I swapped 1l of fluid then drove the car for 1k-2k miles and kept repeating...the gearbox broke after 3l or 4l went in I think.
The problem is well documented online...well known by Volvo owners. I think any gearbox fluid swapping is poking the bear and will create the risk. In the end I did fix the car and it's done 70k miles since and still going strong!
There's a company called Rostra who supply an improved solenoid set which is less likely to gum up...totally fixed mine.
The later boxes might be fine with the fluid being change...worth checking if the box has a fluid filter as I think that was the issue with mine.Mine has the later Aisin TF-80SC 6 speed which I believe is less problematic
That looks like a bike trailer...First towing experience tomorrow
I think that is a trailer for a forthcoming feature ...That looks like a bike trailer...
Hopefully Volvo fitted a drain plug to the haldex and fitted the pump and the filter in a manner that you can remove them from the haldex unit while it is still attached to the car?
Landrover in their wisdom did neither on the late model Freelander 2 , with the result that you have to remove the propshaft from the haldex before unbolting and removing the entire haldex unit from the diff to drain it and remove the propshaft flange to allow the pump to come out to clean the gauze filter (don't forget this step, a lot of haldex faults stem from the pump screen being clogged!)
Having done it several times its a pita for something that could have been a 10 minute job.
