Looking for a gate lock for a gate I'm about to make, I'm looking at locinox any one used this make before, any good? and are there any other makes that you can recommend.
Its 47/22a plastic lock to fit 30x10 flat bar.
Thanks
Sandy
They are ok, feel a bit cheapy, but ok for domestic stuff. Not high security. I've opened the locks before with a couple of decent whacks with a hammer: cast ally casing.
As a bit of advise, when fitting to flat bar I always used to counter-bore the falt bar 5mm deep so that the threaded locking rings are flush. This allows you to get the gate closer to the keep and looks nicer.
As we didn't have any flash kit I used to do this using 2 different size hole saws - cut 5mm deep with the larger one and then turn over and cut the smaller hole from the opposite side. There should be a slight overlap and this allows the slug to just drop out.
