Tack Welds or Stitch Welds?

I tried to lap weld two small pieces of 1mm mild steel sheet. I managed to tacks the ends first, then do some tacks or stitch welds(?) in between, starting in the middle.

I surprised myself by not blowing holes in the pieces.

How's it looking (front and back)?

I see a line.
A see weld #2 from left not crossing over that line.

Thin panels I leave a gap between them so you get full penetration and overlap the previous tack weld for around 4-5 times then allow to cool or start at the other end to avoid distortion

Be a bit more purposeful with the trigger, smidge longer before letting off. If it starts to blow through back the wire off a touch and try again
