Completely unneccessary, but i didn't buy a mill and a lathe to use a socket and extension like some peasant.

Was a pleasure to meet you Wayne, to say your shop and set up was well equiped is an under statement mate . Goodluck on the new hobby and deffo give me a call when you want to fish the Wirral coast and i will show you the good spots. If you wanna make a weekend of it there is a spare bed in my manor.

Yep.

Like you I was trained in oxy fuel cutting.
Apparently it does help to have the plasma tip raised a bit but for our amateur use dragging it works and is a lot easier.
I use it like you would use a stanley knife and a straight edge or guide to cut paper. Light pressure down and hold against your guide and move at a steady pace along the guide.
I try to pull and keep the tip angled slightly back towards the start of the cut.

Think I've got it sussed. These nom. 1" wide stainless strips for the cowl came out nigh on burr free. I used a bit of 10mm stainless bar to run the plasma tip against:

Very. Not a design i've ever seen before, and not sure what it offers over a "conventional" cylinder head design/casting other than being awkward to work on.

From a manufacturer's point of view "being awkward to work on" is reason enough to make it that way.

That’s the reason I drive a Lexus now after 30 years of buying Mercedes because my last Mercedes was 1/2 a Renault, if I wanted a Renault I would have purchased one.
