We’ve got four joining our fleet. If they have faults they’ll show up with us, our trucks are used as workhorsesI've never heard any horror stories about Isuzu.

So if you had say £10k to spend on a pick up, not to be used as a daily, what pick up would you buy?
Its totally normal to see a £15k 2019 van, think oh that looks decent, ckick the advert and it has 350k miles on it :-o
Build quality is rubbish on newer ones. Side doors always failing. Rear doors as well ending up in a total lock out. Body shells look very rust prone.2.1 sprinters are really good
New 2.0 engines are suposed to be useless... and there's spares shortages theyre breaking so fast/often
I've been looking for decent sprinter fridge vans for about a year to replace my older ones but they're all mega money and nega miles :-(
(Tho fridge vans are always a bit expensive)

I prefer the Crafter. Nicer to drive and feels better made. Far more storage space in the cab as well.

Is there still life left in one with those miles? We recently bought a 2011 V6 Sprinter with 728k.

Crafter engines aren't anywhere near as good though.Build quality is rubbish on newer ones. Side doors always failing. Rear doors as well ending up in a total lock out. Body shells look very rust prone.

I have never kept one long enough. All on long term hire. But I have had 5 Sprinters v 3 Crafters. The door problems caused me loads of grief and effected all 5 Sprinters.Crafter engines aren't anywhere near as good though.
Sprinters engines typically far outlast VW engines, and with less issues.
I've worked on Sprinter fleets where vans had typically done 300k before replacement, with some pushing 800k, with only the occasional blown engine, and minimal major repairs.
Crafter fleets were lucky to get to 120k without an engine going bang, or needing something major done.
New 2.0 Sprinter engine seems to be OK so far in terms of major failure (current employer has a few that are already over 150k with some pushing 200k), but a lot of jobs of them are quite involved.
The first of ours are just coming out of warranty, but the most major thing we've had to do so far are a couple water pumps.
We did get one recovered in last week with a failed steering rack, which is a bit concerning, as the steering jammed when they were doing a 3 point turn, at which point the driver refused to drive it any further.
We do have a new MAN (aka Crafter), but nobody seems to like it, so it only gets used as a last resort.
Drivers would rather take an 18 plate Sprinter, which I think sums up how well regarded it is.
