Eland 180 Mig fault

Hi
i was welding with my eland 180 mig today and its dropped its earth-or live
basically when you pull the trigger it still feeds
wire but doesnt arc

i took the side off and what looks like the contactor relay doesnt appear to actuate
if i press the contactor relay button it makes the torch constant live but it works

would you say its the contactor relay at fault or the circuit board not feeding it the correct signal?

who is best to buy replacement parts from? im based in the northwest

it could be the contactor solenoid coil burnt out .check the voltage supply to it when the trigger is pulled .generaly marked a1 and a2 to the side of the contactor. ive just fixed one for someone with the same problem

well i removed the contactor to see if i could get some part numbers off it
its a
KK klockner Moeller
DIL 00-52d

it screws together 2 halves
is it worth pulling apart or just buy a new unit

a 4pole contactor of any make can be had quite cheap. just check the amperage and coil voltage . ebay turns a lot up. i think a 20 amp one can be got for about 20 quid

checking contactor

to check the contactor coil out of machine. make a 2 core lead up with a 13 amp plug on end . conect the other end of lead to a1 and a2 on contactor , turn on and the coil should pull in. make sure the coil is 240v mind as other voltage coils may be fitted

just to let you no it was the contactor
ive just refit my replacement which was a ebay special were i ended up buying 7
only difference is the dil00-52d had a delay'd auxillery
were as the one i replaced with has no delay
a dil00m contactor with a clip on AUXILIARY MODULE 04DIL 0NO4NC
i dont really understand it all but i found a hungarian website with a picture diagram of the dil0052d i could understand lol
