Looking for lessons - can anyone teach me?

Hi all,

I’m a 25 year old man from Bedford, UK. I’ve been out of work for a number of years due to a serious neurological illness, but recently I’ve been working hard to try and overcome it and get myself out there as it were.

I’m looking for someone who can teach me how to weld MIG or TIG, preferably in the Bedfordshire area. I really want to use my skills at my mechanic’s course which starts in September; the ultimate end goal is to be able to get involved with vintage military vehicle restoration.

I’m not expecting this to be free.

I’ve applied to all colleges in an easily accessible location near me and all of them have fobbed me off. The nearest one to me put me in on a waiting list - I then turned up and they didn’t know who I was!

So I’d just really like to be helped by someone reliable who I can have 1 on 1 tutoring with.

Definitely as long as it’s not too far for me health-wise, the condition still limits me from doing complex travel (a lot of changes on the train, navigating awkward travel in general) but I’ll give it a very good go. Where do you have in mind?

There's a number of welding suppliers who have setup doing welder training. One local one here is Allied Welding in Essex.

There must be someone local.

Essex is a bit out of the way, it’d be handy if I could find someone in Milton Keynes, Luton, Northampton but I can’t find someone who does just regular welding training other than a few one day courses or the like.
