Did the bath come with the pipe clips already attached? It is something I have not seen before.

I dont know if the problem is that the hole is too small, or if there is not enough flat.
If its the latter, you could, whilst the bath is inverted, abrade, and pour epoxy. Use mastic or hot glue to create the dam/wall on the OD, and fill flush to the hole itself (dont drip it down the hole / on the visible surface, as youll not get it off easily)
Like float glass, you would get a nice, level, thickened sealing face.

Sounds like what I was thinking but I've already fitted the taps
As for the epoxy, I've got a load of roof repair epoxy left over from a couple of years ago, would it still be ok?
Mix up a micro amount, using the most accurate scales you have, and check it still goes off ok?
Im not sure ive ever had an epoxy product become useless, unless its using non-standard chemistry.

what waste fitting have you got i had it a couple times the supplyed waste comes in loads of parts tryed fitting it twice could not get it to seal went and bought a same ish one a one piece one with over flow fitting fitted and sealed first go some of the supplyed fittimgs are dire and want throwing away before you start
that surface is a bit thin but a good silicone sealent shoulds seal even on the looks to be 6mm ish ?

it will be fine mate, I fitted an acrilicc shower tray it was like that a bit of stixall it was grand
