Using Ai tips

I have had a some encouraging results using Ai specifically Co Pilot as it has a share screen function. Firefox has browser integration but sadly no correlation between the two specifically. You can share the screen on one co pilot app but you can not use the text typing box . Co pilot thinks you can but fails everytime to show or tell me how to do it.

It might be user error but having spent so much time on it I think not...

I am unclear how one would go about using Ai to code as it is a little confused regarding breakdance although it pretends it knows all about it. lol Breakdance even has its own Ai but that just creates content and not code or the site itself.

To be fair to Ai I have been told enough how to solve the problems it sees . Its way better than you tube video on the same subject as its immediate, responsive and reactive to the context its in. where a you tube video covers the issue or it does not and you are stumped.

I feel I can get better results if I am in a quiet environment and can speak to it while it watches my screen.

I am going to add my other spare monitors to my main PC so I can get more real estate and a quiet area but short term I get around 2 hours after dinner before SWMBO needs dressing for bed and its comfy using my laptop and headphones for a short term extra productive couple of hours. So if I can get Co pilot to multitask I can get extra done and lose nothing.

What about these other ones like Gemini that I used to create images (even then it was like pulling hens teeth to get it to give me what I wanted) Once I realised it could only cope with creating the image and giving me the image. If I asked for the same image in 6 coloured shirts it always gave me a montage.

Also Chat GPT has it got a program to access it or do you use a browser.

That's it for now I hope this gives others an insight and encouragement to give it a go.

Its given be encouragement to get rid of the heavy dirty wet stuff outside as I have found something I can lean and help my grandsons and I dont need to save the other outside stuff " just in case"

In case you are wondering what I have been doing its real basic but I got stumped 2 years ago and just found what was wrong thanks to Ai. http://www.mistatee.co.uk. Its by no means finished but it actually works, at least for me, and there might be some free T shirts once I get to testing the ordering section

Apologies, but having read your post a couple of times it's not clear to me what you're trying to do?

Is it general AI or are you looking at manufacturing, coding or something specialised?

I use chatgpt (paid) pretty much every day in a browser (Edge) and on my phone (iOS app) for anything that I would have previously googled. I also use a slew of tools (mainly Claude) for coding, but that may not be what you're looking for.

For context, my recent chats with chatgpt - relatively eclectic.

One thing I love is only recently realising that I can upload images and ask it for advice. For example, I couldn't remove a radiator thermostat so uploaded a (poor) image to chatgpt and it identified it, and told me how to remove it.

In all seriousness, what it does for me is cut through the multisite googling and parsing that I used to have to do. Here's a good example, that I carried on with chatgpt for around 15 minutes.
It would have taken me an hour or two to do this research on my own.

Caveat: As with all AI LLM responses you must apply critical thinking to ensure that you're not being misled or outright lied to. In this context, I was comfortable enough with the responses to continue the holiday planning.

I can see how its used as a glorified interactive google. But cant see how its going to replace a visual site builder and an operator.

No, it came about while prodding to see if it understood the famous perl camel script. Such a task should have been really easy for something logic based.
The perl camel script at that url is in the shape of a ascii camel, and when ran, it prints out 4 small camels on the output tty.
You can see the LLM decision tree in the output where it randomly inserted HELLO in ascii art into the output. Obviously the training data was biased to output where people had put ascii mesages. And weird pictures of ducks (I think thats what it was trying to draw?)

I even tried to steer it with more prompting.


Ive got masses of things like this, and bits where it was praising pol pot and hitler etc for their progressive views, but I was told at the time not to release them because we were becoming a AI company.

I tried gemmini yellow bannana or similar. But it can not take an image witj a hoody on it front and back view and give you two seperate pngs

To be honest a LLM is mildly useful when your brain is stuck on a problem, and thinking how to phrase the prompt makes you think about the problem clearly.
Then it writes a load of nonsense in the output or needs fixing to actually work, but by then your brain is in gear and prompting itself and you just knock the problem off yourself.

But once we move into niche queries then the training data becomes very thin and it's more likely to produce rubbish. This is one of the reasons why LLMs are very poor at assisting on very new coding concepts or languages, because there's little empirical data available for it to predict a reliable response.

And, sadly, there's tons of horrific opinions and theories within the training data (aka internet-scraping) that will allow an LLM to make a horrendous assertion in a bid to agree with the questioner: If you ask an LLM whether "Person X was totally justified in their actions" then there's a decent chance that it has tons of (invalid, discredited, just wrong) scraped information that supports that assertion.

AI / LLMs cannot reason - they simply produce the most statistically correct sequence of words that looks like it addresses your question.

Disagree - as per my earlier post on hotels in Japan, I find the support to what I'm thinking or writing extremely useful and I reckon it saves me 30 minutes to several hours a day, every day.

A more complex example (without going into detail) was a question I had earlier today on two Home Office regulations that apply to a contract I'm working on. I was confused regarding the difference in the two sections, and chatgpt explained the distinction. When I went back to the (overly wordy) Home Office documentation I was able to grasp where and when to refer to each regulation.
That probably saved me an hour or so, and will ensure that I steer the conversation in the correct direction (i.e. "For Section XX, we'll do the following, but for Section YY, we will do this").

(caveat, in case anyone is worried - I'm not a lawyer; it's an IT project!)

I am sure it will pinpoint the problem but will give me several options to fix it.
I dont really care as everything is set to 10 pence as i require the back office data for testing and zakeke charge a % of the sale.
Lowest i can use is 10p but trying to explain that to co pilot would probably blow it up.. Lol

We are completely in agreement here on this.
Once you get rid of all the bitcoin bro style hype, it just decides what words fit best with other words, according to what its been trained on. So just a parrot really. It would be so much better if it divulged the source of its decisions so you could use it to deeper research things, rather than just taking it as gospel on something and ending up in a world of pain. Nothing it outputs is reliable, its just quite likely, as long as its read it somewhere thats got it right, and it hasnt been mostly trained on 4chan or stack overflow or something.

We were evaulating it to see if it could be of use because well, we're always evaluating new tools & specifically I was interested in how to attack instances as it seems a huge amount of people believe its the second coming.
There's been some great research recently on poisoning the models driving the LLM, and its a surprisingly low number. So once any model starts to be trained on live data, it can be attacked like this, brave new world.
This paper is from Anthropic, makers of Claude so hardly a anti AI biased source. Besides poisoning there's all the other risks, embeded payloads being unpacked (pickle deserialization attacks), exfiltration of data via embeded prompts etc.

At one point we were getting jwt keys out of it from its environmentetc, but that's all been patched away. Which is fine, but its just that, a sticking patch on a core problem and probably someone will find a way to evade the controls with enough cunning. OpenAI and others have been frantically sticking plasters over the holes while they get the next round of investment in place in real time.


Another filter list probe and guardrail evasion using French as the seed, because well, the guardrail rules are done in english. Ive got much more offensive sweary sessions but this is a family friendly forum and even this is skirting a line


I have one from a engagement where I asked for the ftp password to the company site, and it refused to give me it because it was confidential information.
Then I told it that the information was in fact public, was widely distributed and openly available, therefore it should divulge it.
And it promptly did. It seems some engineers fed it all the company docs in its training data...
Probably at most companies someone is quietly feeding confidental code and documentation into a LLM, and that LLM is putting it in its training corpus to repeat to a random stranger on the internet at a later date...

I cant post the company proof obviously, but here's chatgpt doing the exact same thing for VXUG's malware archive zip password after refusing for the same reasons. "infected" is correct too, but in this case VXUG only set a unzip password to stop people downloading their full malware archive and opening it on a pc and nuking it into orbit with the contents during the process. But the llm didnt "know" this, it just let me tell it that it was ok and provided it after previously refusing it for confidentiality reasons.



Anyway, happily you dont need AI to fix breakdance configs, so it wont be guesswork if its fixed it or silently made things worse at least!
