'tis the washing machine, the open door is one of those add-wash things
correct, actually it works quite well from what i hear.

I can't think of the present trio ever getting into fireboxes,
they know where the nicely warm bits of an engine are.
The previous Station Cat, the late Quaker, used to know where the warm bits of the diesel shunter where.
(To the extent that "Check for the presence of Cats before starting engine" is written into the S.o.P. )

Update on the semi wild black cat that is living in my garden.
She is eating well, she has chosen to slip inside the house, when she thought I was not lookin. Now hiding somewhere, food and water down.

This was our garden cat that decided he would keep us
he's gone from ferrel cat to bed rat and he's called Horace , cause he's always hungry . been chipped and balled as he was a fighter ( not so bad now ) tollerated by the other two cat's so ( about two years ) i'm into the region of £600 so far which I very much doubt I'll ever recover he's a nutter . Oh and his markings are perfectly symetrical all over . he's missing a bit of ear too .

I've recently found that our cat will drink water from a saucer ONLY if it's not near his food!
Apparently they won't touch it near a food source, rotting meat contaminating the water I suppose.
Clever these cats aren't they?

Horace lets you know the water bowl is empty he'll try and get his head in the downstairs bog
some times at night you can here him trying to get one of the wardrobe doors open ,he likes to snuggle in all the clothes in the bottom .

all true, been doing that for our cat(s) for years. current one prefers the water in a seperate room to his food

we have a cat fountain with a carbon filter for ours, they both use it.
caught them in a kitchen cupboard this morning!
they are not allowed on the worktops either!
Seem to be obeying that rule!

Every cupboard or wardrobe door you leave open they are in, or if you go to the toilet they scratch the door to get in with you!
