My friend bought a load of new Heras fencing panels last year, but some of the welds on the tubing has failed.
So, I brought some old pieces of tubing home, to see if I could reweld them. I put the ends of the tubing back together, roughly. Then put a triangular 1mm thick piece of mild steel, across the corners (75mm long). This was simply to see if it could be done. I had removed the galvanising from the area to be welded.
I set the flux core amperage at it's lowest, at 40 Amps and give it a go.
It seemed to be okay on the larger tube, but blew through on the smaller tubing. Do you think this type of repair is achievable?
