M22 x 1.75 Nut (??)

Hi - can anybody please help me?
I'm trying to locate a M22 x 1.75 Nut.... because I have miss placed/lost one in my workshop - it has simply "vanished".
I only need one and cannot find a supplier - M22 x 1.5 or 2.0 appear common - but 1.75 not so much.
I located some on the web - from China - but upon arrival they do not mate to the male thread of the component they attach to - the pitch is correct but the thread depth of just too shallow.
Can anybody point me in the right direction.?
Material is pretty much academic - the nut I have lost was brass but anything ferrous or non ferrous would work.
No - I don't have the equipment or skill set turn one on the lathe and the cost of a die to make just one is a little frightening.

7/8x14UNF is a very close match...think it works out its only half a thread per inch off and the dia is 22.2 or something around there.

to be fair though, 20 quid for a tap, you would also need to be able to drill to tapping size, so 20.3 and a bit of brass hex stock...maybe 40 quid all in...but for an unobtanium nut id be looking at making a few just in case.

A passing truck lost some nuts and Lotus picked them up off the road.

You "could" be right - the hinge assembly is a replacement aftermarket assembly recently machined by a Lotus specialist - which is why I believe it is metric .

The size rings a bell for some reason.
I'll have a look over the weekend, if I've got a tap here you could post the nut to me and I'll run it through..

There ain't no way that's gonna be a metric fastener IMHO. If you care to send me one of the hinges I'll make a nut to fit whatever the size is.

It's not that uncommon to find 1.75 pitch on Japanese motorcycles. Maybe some widget or other might also be M22. I'm thinking headstock or spindle nut perhaps...
