Looking at a new motor for compressor but seller states it runs anticlockwise.is this correct,if not can direction of motor be changed?

No diagram there.Turn the junction box cover over the wiring diagram is usually on the underside.
Red star I think it isIs it TEC motor? They usually supply a diagram, or you can get one on request. Probably the same as the one shown above:

The live should be connected to one terminal on one of the brass strips and the neutral should be connected to the other brass strip. It doesn't make any difference which way round, but if this motor has a overload/trip included then wiring will be slightly different but I cant see enough of the box to confirm as there are existing cables connected in the required positionsHi folks,got a new motor now,but where does live wire go to?
