jacks dont repair very well.

you might be right if you're refering to the cheapo jacks you buy now, but I have an epco the same as brightsparks & like him I re-furbished it years ago, [real quality jacks ] & I've been using it regularly since & it's ''never let me down'' so to speak.

i made 2 diffrent size jack extensions just remove them and put the plate direct on to jack . there great on level ground as the jack is sturdy but i wouldnt recomend them if jack is flimsy or on uneven ground . with extension on it will lift to 3ft a jack is for lifting and not to be relied upon for working under cars un suported without axle stands ect

went in costco yesterday on trafford park, that arcan ally jack is rated at 2 ton and costs 83.98 inc vat. so i bought one on impulse. i now have three trolley jacks, don't think i'll need another. would have had another toolbox but she would have seen me get that out of the van.

Clueless, that's a bleeding good deal! The one my local Costco (Thurrock) has the one I linked to for £103 inc. vat which is the 2 US ton model. Think I know where I'll be going this weekend...

I recently bought a Sealey/ Yankee 3ton jack with ratchet axle stands, a breaker bar, 2 foam mats for lying on and a rescue petrol can all for £114.

It was a deal in a sealey catalogue.
My only gripe is no quick lift and i need to drive my car onto boards to ensure the jack gets under the car (Lowered car so not surprising really)
700mm lift as well iirc.
