How to remove bearing end cap

This motor has to come apart as the centrifugal switch isn't doing what it is supposed to. I have previously dissembled many motors but this one has got me stumped. How am I supposed to remove the motor bearing end cap on the terminal end? I have tried to jam screwdrivers and levers in all the usual places.

I assumed the pressed metal end cap could be prised off as usual

The bottom picture has a small half-round tab between the motor bell housing and the cover, and another at 90° to it.

I'm still not seeing that and I've got the thing right in front of me

I think this is what Seadog means:

To me it looks like you unscrew it as well:

Pink line shows a flat which would stop it CCW but if you went CW it would 'jump' due to the angle on the green line.

Maybe the note doesn't read just right.
Maybe you pull the whole terminal end bell off, bringing the rotor along with it.
and then on the bench, inside on the shaft might be a circlip to allow the shaft to come out
of the blind bearing pocket.

I've done a few, and can't recall digging out that bearing from the outside.

I like the idea but that won't work as I have tried it already. The terminal bell end won't remove fully unless I can get the rotor out and it seems the only way to do that is to remove the clip which at the moment I can't get to

Made the decision to stop wasting time and punched a hole through the cap.

Rotor is now out.

The centrifugal switch appears to be intact and complete as far as I can make out but it does not actuate when up to speed.

Like I say it appears to be complete but thinking back to other motors I've dismantled I think the centrifugal switch normally has a couple of small weights on either side or at least weighted parts

So now that you're in, how should it have come out? I'm assuming a chisel under the end cap edge and pop it off.

The rubber ring for the compliant mount seems to be confusing a lot of people

Yes I think it should pop off like you say however corrosion made that not want to happen

Yes I am pretty sure that it is going fast enough for those weights to push outwards. I'm wondering if someone has had this motor apart and added springs that are too strong
