New house has a HKvision recorder thing and three cameras
I want to add a fourth
Current recorder thing has one more plug hole, cameras are POE which I believe is Power over Eathernet?
So how do I pick a camera and do I just plug it in?
It's supposed to be plug n play but I have never got on with it doing that..... sapd allows you to set the ip address and passwords (if any) before you plug into the box
If yours is the same series machine as mine there is a lot of options within the menu's
Maybe - if you plug in a hikvision, ezviz or hilook camera and your recorder is new enough it might detect it automatically and allow you to set it up but if it doesn’t then you use a windows program like sadp to configure it.
I think i had to set up each camera individually, give it all its login and a fixed ip address etc, then it was easy enough to add it to the NVR, they are a bit of a fiddle to setup, but nothing too terrible
ah yeah, his might not be a network video recorder, maybe just standalone,
Mine just has one LAN connection, and all the cameras can plug in anywhere on the network and it finds them no bother
