Recommendations needed for LED torch

I've a couple of these, and some of the smaller ones that don't focus, been very happy with them apart from the strobe being annoying. Battery life and recharge time are great. They've been dropped lots and survived a year in the workshop no bother.

I've been looking in Lidl for the last few weeks for a cheap simple LED torch since I almost had a collision on a dark footpath with someone who wasn't looking where they were going, and I share the frustration of having too many cycles to go from off to on to off again, and they're not consistent - the different types of LED torch I have in the shed have different sequences. I discovered by accident that one I bought, if I hold the button down while it's on, switches into red and offers the same options in a different colour. I'll have a look at some of these suggestions, I can't be doing with batteries though, must be rechargeable.

I found an LED head torch with only three brightness settings. Switch on, cycle through, once selected and left on for a short time one press switches off.
Also has a PIR sensor where once set, waving your hand in front switches on & off. (Once the brightness setting is selected, holding the button down selects PIR mode.)

peli lite 3315 ,,, I have one in each car and several others round the place , bike boat dive kit etc , they are simple and just work when you need them to.

Bought one on eBay, as you mentioned, and it arrived today - a simple yet excellent wee torch. And it'll always be easy to find!

Yep, just got a five-bundle of those off Ali-X, without batteries knocks the price right down. As you say, the supplied batteries are rubbish, so no need for them.
I've been using a couple of these for years, but eventually the straps stretch and wear out (can get replacements) and sooner or later some other part will get busted. A bundle of them means I'll not be hunting for spares or replacements for a while.

Bought one on eBay, as you mentioned, and it arrived today - a simple yet excellent wee torch. And it'll always be easy to find!

I have a fair few peli lites ,,, and while they may not always be the cheapest they just work when you need them to , the only one I ever had bother with was a dive torch used as a back up , sometimes it didnt turn on , and with dive kit you need it to work when you need it ,, so back to peli ,,, no hassles no questions just replaced , fantastic service I cant praise then enough as a company .... hope your torch works as well for you as they have for me.

The led lenser i5hr has a couple of brightness modes, but always defaults to the “standard” setting when you turn it on. If you don’t press the button again soon after then the next press turns it off. Works great, and you don’t need to cycle through modes to turn off or on, it’s a great little head torch but quite pricey. It’s geared at industrial users as it comes with attachments for hard hats etc, but it’s rechargeable and can also be used as a clip on light.

I have a few LED Lenser torches but they're all black and thus harder to find (when you really need a torch!!!) in the dark so the neon yellow is just the ticket.

I had a Peli pencil torch as a teenager, say 40yrs or so ago, so also adds some nostalgia!

they actually do torches now in luminous plastic , so when the lights go out you can find it easily ,,, I have an exit sign from a building job plugged into a s standard socket in my hot press ,,, if the lights go out it comes on automatically ,,, just unplug it and take it to where ever its needed ,,, I used to keep it in the power distro rack on pa jobs ,,, very handy indeed .

Quite why I have so many torches I'll never know... the four black ones are all LED Lenser. There's another LED Lenser headtorch somewhere in the house for dog walking.
