What, don't bother trying to stop the fuel leaking out when I move it?dont bother use a slide float in the fuel cap with markings you can see weather full half way or low level
I like the idea of bonding something over the whole space, no idea if lexan or perspex or araldite are affected by fuel?could turn one down on the lathe made out of lexan or perspex and glue it in with araldite
nupe i made a perspex float bowl cover for my amal monoblock carb on my bike so you saw the fuel level and the brass floatI like the idea of bonding something over the whole space, no idea if lexan or perspex or araldite are affected by fuel?

Thanks but I think you've missed the point. It's a completely different machine. In this case, the sight glass is cracked and so when it's tipped onto its wheels to move the fuel flows out of the sight glass aperture.play from 48 seconds tippex fuel float
Yup, bung it up is probably the way to gopry it off , and put a rubber bung in it ,,, or a grommet ,,, its only to stop splashes really , job done .
I have bought cheap sight glasses (for checking oil level) from AliExpress. Might be worth a look? Thanks but I think you've missed the point. It's a completely different machine. All I really need to do is block the aperture, either by replacing the glass which I don't know how to do, or by blocking the aperture & completely ignoring the level indicator.View attachment 524837
