Viscous fan coupling spanners

Any one used these? its always a fiddle trying to get something on the fan nuts so about time I got something suitable

I was chatting at work about the problems accessing the fan nut on my Landy, the foreman got me a spanner from the stores and a fitter put an offset in it for me

Both of those look better than the cheap one I bought on Amazon.

Eventually got the fan off my Td5 about 7 years ago and didn’t put it back on. It never seems to get hot, even when towing uphill in summer.

I have a big stash of spare spanners for this sort of job, have to keep them hidden though, if my girlfriend knows I've got duplicates she might tidy them into the bin.

It’s the decent pulley/hub holding tools that are hard to find, I think the double ended fan spanner I have fits just about everything I have come across.

One of mine is actually 2 Sykes Pickavent spanner’s welded together, extra length helps sometimes. Wouldn’t be the first time I have used a drift to remove stubborn fans
