What I broke today...........

Yesterday I went to put the winter tyres on the wife’s BMW. Brake fluid was due a change too so whilst the wheels were coming off I thought I’d kill two birds with one stone. It wasn’t meant to be though as the bottle cap on the Gunsens Eezibleed decided it was going to crack half way around the top. I found this out as I connected it up to the tyre to give it pressure, brake fluid sprayed everywhere. More than a few a few swear words as I spent the next hour cleaning up the mess. Decided to tape it all up to get the job done but it didn’t hold but luckily no brake fluid explosion this time. I can’t complain as it’s well over a decade old and I was complacent in putting brake fluid in it before pressure testing.

3dprint a new top. People say that brake fluid affects the printed oart but Ive mate brake fluid funnels from PLA and PETg and they are still holding up.

Already bought a replacement from Halfords, just need to pick it up

20quid for a new bleeder or 650 on a 3 d printer and gubbins….no brianer to buy the printer really!

My Ezibleed was bought in 1981 and still works fine.

Well it started working fine, once I read the instructions about the pressure of the spare tyre in about 1986...
Before then brake fluid fountains were common.

I made that mistake before with a mk3 Mondeo. I didn’t know that the hard pipes were joined by rubber pipes with normal hose clips. I soon found though with a 36psi tyre.

That does look a better system with no need to put the spare wheel on the engine to provide the pressure.

I prefer the vacuum bleed kits ....keeps the lid on the fluid reservoir free so I can top it up as needed.

Mostly I get "someone" to just press the pedal...I'm always worried with bleeders that they'll mess up and pumps!

Vacuum bleeds are good but go steady with them when bleeding motorbike systems as they will pull in air past the master cylinder seal, as I discovered.

Not just that but it holds a decent amount of fluid. Just fill it up, pressurise it and go around cracking off nipples and away you go.

I blew a brake line on the 110 whilst in @8ob's neck of the woods and he made up a new line and had one of those, I've never had much success or use out of the Eezibleed, partly due to new ones having a big warning about pressures and living a 33x12" tyre off the back door isn't fun so I've never really used it. The system above makes things so much simpler, particularly when there's a dozen bleed nipples to go around.

I got one recently due to a recommendation from this forum obvs and it's really good, way better than the Easybleed that's now been binned!
Did a Mini in about 1/2 an hour with no leaks or explosions of brake fluid.

Just cancelled the Eezibleed from Halfords and ordered that instead.

I've always had good results with the Eezibleed but not having a spare wheel to use is a bind as I have to remove a wheel, lower the pressure, use it, inflate it again and refit. The kit you linked to does away with that faff.
