How much do you pay for box section

I’m paying like £44.10 for a full length 7.5m of 3mm thick 50x50 box section mild steel just wondering what prices others are getting it at as there’s some websites that are charging way more

Is that including VAT? collected? delivered free? Is that a single length or 1 ton?

FH Brundle is generally comparable to my other local steel stckholders so use that as a guide for costing my DIY projects. Including VAT Brundles would be £59 delivered for a single length but £211.80 for 5 lengths deliverd so £42.36 each with more discounts at 10+ and 20+ lengths.

Looks about right, my local stockholders are normally a bit cheaper for the steel but £24 delivery instead of £12 from brundles, so brundles often comes out cheaper for small orders. It's unlikly you will get it considerably cheaper without buying in quantity. If you are frequently picking up small orders it may be worth asking for an account and a discount but don't hold your breath.

But at £44.10 a length that ain't bad for a diy customer, imo.

No im not and i get delivery free as it’s close by. Yeah seems to be reasonable then compared to most places

Just collected a length of 50x50x3 7.5m m/s box from local suppliers 15 minutes away and inc' vat it was £47.65. Also had a 6m of 50x50x1.5 stainless that came to 75.84. Expensive, but it looks nice and wont rust.
