better than the two months my brother got out of a varta..Just replaced the battery in my Peugeot as it was getting noticeably slower to crank now it’s a bit colder. I think this one did rather well!

The new one is a Halfords EFB, 5 year warranty which will outlast the car's lifetime left with me.For an AGM battery that's done exceedingly well.
The battery in my old X Type lasted 11 years and the Halfords one in my GT6 managed 13 but they were just regular lead acid. The 6v lead acid batteries for my Morris only last about 6 or 7 years![]()
Mrs Robo bought a new battery for her Peugeot from Halfords and paid the £10 to have it fitted (I was at work), they looked at it for 5 minutes, couldn't work out how to change it and gave her the £10 back.
It took me less than 10 minutes, and that included getting out & putting away the tools needed.

Some of the newer chargers can recover batteries that normal chargers won't.I replaced the Varta in my Classic Nissan 2 months ago - it was less than a year old
I had left the lights on the night before. I've done similar over the years with other cars and most of the batteries have recovered ok after a decent charge.
This one lost one of the cells so max charge on my trusty smart charger was 12.xx volts not the usual 14.xx, I left it on charge overnight hoping it would improve - more cells died so max charge was only 10 volts.
Family work in a new car dealer, they tell me many new batteries won't recover once they discharge past a certain point. "Old tech" batteries seem to have a much better chance of surviving...

My charger is a fairly recent Optimate and I rate it very highly. Some of the newer chargers can recover batteries that normal chargers won't.
Reconditioning charger should force voltage to it regardless, oldy worldly chargers are usually crap at low voltages, probably better off linking another battery to it, usually new batteries die from lack of use and deep discharging. My charger is a fairly recent Optimate and I rate it very highly.
The latest achievement was recovering a battery that had been left on a modern car for several months and was showing a lot less than 1 volt - it's now one of my stronger batteries.
The only problem is some very low voltages need to have a spell on an old "dumb" charger so voltage rises enough to work on a smart charger.
