Got a few oddsnsodds to adapt to the excavators, starting with a log grab on Kubota. This is just a hitch adaptor and pipe up job, the machine came with the two extra services for grab and rotate vs just the breaker lines.

Started off with a lump of 8” wide heavy channel, milled in slots for the quickhitch pins.

Cut the two lifting eye plates out of some 20mm plate and bored them out to 32mm




Set up the lifting eyes and cross brace.

Welded that up along with the pins.

Made up the pin and added a lifting eye.

Coat of zinc paint and will pipe it tomorrow.

Does the cross brace act as a stop for the pendulum so you can crowd the load towards the cab for tracking?

More as a stop for stowing Pete, this type of rotator wont take side loads, they are a pain to lash down on a trailer unless you can lay them down flat., the stop will tuck it out of the way for loading purposes without scuffing about on the trailer bed.

Is the lifting eye free to rotate? With it horizontal as shown, and if it were fixed, will a shackle not load it in the wrong direction? And potentially in the unscrewing direction of its securing nut.

Its only used with a rope for pulling/skidding timber closer to the machine, I may chop it off and mount a hydraulic winch to the plate.
