Anything cheaper than MultiECUScan for proxy alignment?

Evening all,

As the title says. My 2013 Alfa Romeo Mito has a flashing mileage because I disconnected the 'Blue&Me' module to install a new stereo.

Apparently I have to get the car to re-register the contents of its local network with a proxy alignment, so it can come to terms with the fact it no longer has a 'Blue&Me' module.

Anybody have any clue if I can spend less than £130 to essentially stop a slightly annoying flashing mileage?

My scan tool only lists the Mito upto 2008. A special function is listed for Proxi alignment procedure but I assume that to be able to do this on the newer vehicles there is an additional paid subscription required. This subscription adds the following vehicle brands Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati that now seem to have a secure gateway module. Only through FCA system certification can the SGW be unlocked and access advanced diagnostic functions. Maybe look for a local independent that specialises in any of the above mentioned brands

I hate the Blue&me feature in our Fiat based motorhome, I can use my phone through it (but never do ) but I can’t get it to play music even when I tried hard wiring it. As already suggested ,try a local independent, cover the odometer so you can’t see it or learn to live with it… Pretty sure I’ve seen some info about the flashing odometer ,and how to stop it ,on a motorhome forum?

Multieuscan is €50 direct from the developer, which is well worth spending if you have a fiat group car and will do proxi alignment.
An interface, like the vLinker FS USB is less than £25 but you can get many cheaper options.

I just remembered, when I fitted an aftermarket radio on my 159 I was able to keep the Blue&me module connected as the radio was smaller.
Might not be an option on a Mito but it cost nothing and hasn't
been an issue in the couple of years since I installed the radio.

I went aftermarket because of the crapness of the early Blue&me system.

What I was looking at for £130 was a bundle of the MultiECUScan license, a Vgate Vlinker FS USB, and the adapters for various things - but it looks like I can save a bit by just getting the license, cable and the one adapter needed for proxy alignment separately. Thanks for that.

I've replaced the stock stereo with a single DIN stereo + fascia with a little cubby hole where the Blue&Me used to be. Could have kept Blue&Me, but there would have been an ugly hole in the fascia and the cubby hole is more useful to me than the crappy module lol.

I think you might have the same kind of module I do which handles phone calls and pretty much nothing else? I think in some vehicles the Blue&Me module also provides the settings, allows the steering wheel controls to communicate etc. but thankfully I don't seem to have broken anything critical in mine.

I put in a double din (for the screen for a reverse camera) so there was room behind that.

Thankfully SGWs only seem to be in newer cars than mine, about 2017 up? Apparently you can remove them and replace with a bypass module.

Oh that's good to know! So all I need is the software, license and cable, no adapters? According to the distributor a proxy alignment wanted adapter 3 or the 'yellow' adapter.

Maybe in the older models.

I was able to get into proxy alignment on a 2017 Tipo without any adaptor.

I've nothing older here to check.
