3p rack

made a new rack based on the hepco/becker style.the original(picture below) is to low for my liking so I made it higher .that sorted but now I'm trying to figure out I might be able to weld brackets to accept the shad 3p luggage.top bit no problem but the bottom mount is a bit tricky as there's nothing to mount it onto.the only thing is to put a longer bolt through the footrest and fixed a bracket from that? I dont think the round guard can take the weight etc. any suggestions?

Footrest bracket is an excellent idea.

Only difficult bit is to design a support that doesn't look as ugly as sin.

thanks, the footrest brackets seem to me the only way to go.
the whole unit will only be on during the tour a week or two.
it will be taken off when not in use and original pin put back in.

When I did a similar thing to reinforce a rear bike bracket, I just slipped some tube over the footrests with the support welded to that.

Scotland east coast. done it a few times.next year or being well.
not sure which to take just yet. either the Kawasaki Z650RS or the ADV 350.

I've decided to go a different rout.bought a pr of bags. just going to make a square frame with a different type of mount.

well that didn't work out.the bags were way to big.
so I decided to carry with the Shad 3p system rout.
I was concerned with the foot guard not being able to take the stress but guard is very strong so no worries so here is the results.
the frame is rock solid.
