So where do you guys get them?

We have a standard gas lens with thread on cups but wanted to try a pyrex for a better view, it seems that we need a collet with o-rings etc. so the easiest way it seems is to buy a CK gas saver kit with pyrex cup as it contains everything......but im bug*ered if im going to pay £8 for delivery for a tiny packet.

both places I have looked R-tect and the forum sponsor both charge the same delivery, maybe i suppose because they would just prefer selling larger items?

Any other options? ideally im looking 2.4mm, wedge collet with a size 6 pyrex or near to be similar to what i have now. I looked on amazon but the reviews werent great.

The ones of TEMU or Alixpress are just as good as any others, plus it doesn't hurt so much when you drop the torch and they shatter.......

ebay for me...im on stubby gas lens stuff now but apart from tungstens (dippy dippy) my consumables are lasting well...in 10 months of tig welding ive only had 2 ceramics crack and 2 collets fail to the point they wont grip anymore.

2 collets fail to the point they wont grip anymore.

Don't mess about with the standard split collets get the wedge type I've not had one go slack yet....

I spent far too long going through aliexpress last night which is mainly kits of stuff i have no use for, 95% are split collet, it just seems a PITA to get the individual parts, Pyrex for example is mostly 10 or 12.

If you want genuine CK dont think they do any smaller than an 8 in pyrex!

I don't mind an 8, I looked at CK purely because they had single kits, I dare say most welding places sell the stuff from the same factories from aliexpress unless its branded.

Slow boat from China, but lets see what turns up, split collet it seems but i guess not the end of the world and half the cost of CK, decided a #8 cup

In your first post you mention gas saver, I dont think what youve ordered looks like it is a gas saver, just a pyrex cup set. The gas saver is like a filter mesh bit that goes in the collet holder.

I don't know, it seems that CK have a standard collet body with different sized inserts with mesh for Tungsten size, whereas these gas lenses are sized for specific tungsten sizes without the need for inserts.

It also seems CK are the only brand that call their gas lenses "gas savers" but in happy to be corrected on all of this because I am not a fountain of knowledge.

Dunno, I have-a CK torch, only once bought non CK bits and they just didn't seem quite right. So now only buy CK bits, I use so few the extra cost is fairly irrelevant. As for delivery charges, I tend to just pay, years ago when I lived in the burbs Id jump in the car and go out-and buy stuff locally. Now being very rural it’s rare I go to a non food shop and mail order almost everything.
And if Im ever out shopping alone I tend to stop in the gun shop or tool shop and over heat my card, so the 8 quid delivery charge usually saves me about 1200 quid, based on recent experiences.

I'm in Essex and there's nowhere to buy tools except Screwfix, Tool Station and B&Q. I buy everything mail order. We need a Harbour Freight style store in the UK. Trouble is I would have no money left in a very short period of time.

Our local rent free gas supplier has really upped their game since all the tools and consumables suppliers around here folded. They have a rack full of useful sized offcuts of angle/flats, welding and cutting consumables,bolts,abrasives and much more. Shameless plug

Imagine how dangerous Harbour Freight would be to all of us if they opened stores in the UK. I'd have to sell a kidney after the first week.
